The 3rd Regiment of New Hampshire portrays a volunteer force raised by the New Hampshire Provincial Congress to support the patriot army at the Boston Siege in mid 1775. The 3rd New Hampshire admirably served in the Continental Army at the battles of Bunker Hill, Trois-Rivie'res, Ticonderoga, Trenton, Princeton, Saratoga, and the Sullivan Expedition.
Some of our events include weekend encampments where we display the daily challenges of supporting a mobile army.
We also allow full access to the camp by the public for viewing, questions, and good old conversation.
We also represent the American Revolutionary War Militia and Continental Army in a few parades each year, where we march with the Columbia Fife & Drum Corp.
THE MORE, THE MERRIER!
Due to the nature of camp life and some of our presentations, insurance is required for anyone hoping to participate in the events. The paperwork to join can be filled out and submitted on the membership page and annual dues can also be paid.

Our first event in 2024 is April 27th and 28th in Chehalis
Being as we are attempting to keep this history alive, all of our events are family friendly.
Musicians are a fantastic element of camp life and the Columbia Fife & Drum Corp is the beating heart of The Spirit of 76 Living History Association. Era appropriate tunes and songs tend to spontaneously break out during our events.
For authenticity (and just for fun), we will attempt to memorize Baron von Steuben's Troop Drills and we will also practice some marching maneuvers for display at events and parades.
To promote numbers and balance in events, we work hand-in-hand with the British 43rd Regiment of Foot and often crossover to portray British Soldiers and even Loyalists when needed to tell a story.
We display era appropriate skills including cooking, leather working, rifle care and maintenance, candle making, woodworking, flax, weaving, dressmaking, and anything someone manages to come up with. We even display toys and games of the era and promote public interaction. The Civilians and Camp Followers Unit on the Spirit of 76 home page gives more information.
